Development Studies,
Thiruvananthapuram since 1999. Currently in-charge of editing and
publishing the Research Reports, basically micro studies on local
level development, environment, gender studies, biodiversity,
health, sanitation, agriculture, industry, and culture and
indigenous knowledge.
A postgraduate
in Mass Communication and Journalism from Department of Journalism,
University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
My graduation was in Commerce from S.D.College, Alappuzha
.
Joined Tata
Energy Research Institute (TERI), New Delhi as Information
Analyst in 1994. Work at TERI focused on various publications relating to the
research and development of non-conventional energy resources.
Worked with The Asian Age,
New Delhi as Sub-Editor; with the Features Desk doing the Edit Page.
In December
1995 joined as Sub Editor with The
Indian Express, Thiruvananthapuram. Did occasional reporting too; subjects ranged from development,
politics, film, and culture. Was part of the team, which produced
the special Festival Express supplement for the first time during
International Film Festival of India, 1998, Thiruvananthapuram.
Published
works appeared in The Asian Age, The Economic Times, The Indian
Express, and The Times Of India.
And…
Presented
a paper on Media at the International Congress on Kerala Studies
organized by AKG Centre for Research and Studies in
Thiruvananthapuram, August 1995.
Covered
the last Parliament election for the Malayalam
Vaarika, the largest circulated Malayalam weekly published by
the Indian Express group. Writes irregularly for it pieces on social
commentaries/critiques.
Wrote
narration for two documentary films by award-winning director K. K. Chandran.
One in Malayalam: Thiricharivinte
Noottandu (on Renaissance of Kerala); one in English: Jayamatha (on an age-old Christian charity home in Thiruvananthapuram).
